MEN'S GROUPS IN

PORTLAND, OR & SW WASHINGTON

  • Steve has been in practice for over ten years as a licensed mental health professional.

  • Steve is a certified No More Mr. Nice Guy therapist.

  • Steve is a recovering Nice Guy myself and draw from his own experience to help clients develop and get the most out of the work together.

  • The therapy Steve provides is action oriented. If you’ve been in other therapy or counseling where you process and talk week after week you’ll find working with me to be a bit different. While there is some processing and getting to know your story, there will be a heavy emphasis on learning new behavior and working on specific actions that can manifest change in your life. We can talk more about this when we meet.

  • The cost of group membership is $200 each month. Before meeting with the group, new members meet with Steve 2-3 times individually for an on-boarding process. The cost of each of those sessions is $150. After the initial meetings, men can decide if they want to continue working individually for some time or if they want to join the group. The individual meetings are 55 minutes in duration.

  • Meetings are weekly and are held on Sunday afternoons at 3pm. Steve also have an online option that uses a video conference format, this group meets on Sundays at 1:30 pm.

  • Men's groups are closed format which means that people don’t come in and out of the group when they want — men make a commitment to themselves and each other to show up, work hard, and support each other’s recovery. You get to know the other group members and learn from their experiences.

  • Steve will provide challenges and exercises by email from time to time. You will be asked to stretch into these challenges and you’ll also have a chance to identify your own work.

  • Steve does not bill insurance directly but will work with you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement if you wish. The majority of our clients pay out of pocket.

  • Our office is located at NE 60th and Glisan in Portland.
